March 2011: London Auditions for the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra

 

The Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB), Brazil’s most traditional symphonic institution based in Rio de Janeiro, and Artistic Director Roberto Minczuk are pleased to announce international auditions this year for violins, violas, cello, clarinet, trombone and piano.

The auditions will be held in London from May 16th-18th.  Further information can be found by visiting the orchestra’s website at www.osb.com.br/english.

Applications and resumes must be submitted by April 25th in portable document format (PDF) to selecao@osb.com.br. The location and time of auditions will then be sent to applicants.

The auditions will be for the following positions:

VIOLIN
Category I - 2 positions
Category III - 1 position
Category Tutti- 3 positions

VIOLA
Category I - 1 position
Category III - 2 positions

CELLO
Category III - 1 position

CLARINET
Category I - 1 position

TROMBONE
Category I - 1 position

PIANO
Category I - 1 position

Salary
Category I yearly - R$ 111.312,65 (approx US$ 64.478.02 at present rate)
Category II yearly - R$ 105.579,33 (approx US$ 62.105,48 at present rate)
Category III yearly - R$ 99.845,99 (approx US$ 58.732,94 at present rate)
Tutti yearly - R$ 88.379,33 (approx US$ 51.987.64 at present rate)
