The LCGF continues its partnership with the Seville International Guitar Competition, presenting its 2013 first-prize winner, young French guitarist Thibaut Garcia. At only twenty, Garcia has already established himself as one of the most exciting new talents on the international circuit, performing across Europe and the Americas and obtaining prizes in some of Europe's most prestigious guitar competitions. ‘Stylishly presented...Manus Noble made a powerful, poised impression.’ The Telegraph In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, ILAMS launches a new concert series in London aimed at providing a platform to promising young musicians at the start of their career, whilst offering audiences a unique opportunity to enjoy the diversity of colour, vitality and exuberance that Iberian and Latin American music is famous for. British classical guitarist Manus Nobleinaugurates the series with a solo concert of Spanish, Latin American and British works, including some of own compositions. A former student of Craig Ogden and Gary Ryan at both the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, Noble is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the rising stars of the British classical guitar world. 'Matthew and Aisling, both accomplished players individually, come together and bring a beautiful natural charm to their musicality, which make listening to them a constant pleasure.' David Russell The Agnew-McAllister Duo make their début concert at the Bolivar Hall in London. Their joint passion for chamber music, interacting with composers and performing new music immediately brought them together whilst studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Since giving their début recital at the ‘Harty Room’ of Queen’s University, Belfast in 2001 the Duo are now recognised as being at the very forefront of the genre. Numerous recordings and international concert tours are testimony to their popularity and expertise alongside their many commissions through which the Duo work to add breadth and depth to the repertoire. ‘A performer of style and precision.’ Classical Guitar Magazine Francesco Mariani is well known for his relaxed and informative recitals. A teacher at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, where his students have gone on to study at the RNCM, Guildhall School and the San Francisco Conservatory, Francesco Mariani first studied the guitar with Graham Wade then at the RNCM with Gordon Crosskey and subsequently with Richard Wright. He has a wide experience performing at festivals throughout the UK including the Wirral and Bath Guitar Festivals and Leeds International Concert Season as well as broadcasts with Classic FM, the BBC and ITV.
